Make sure to replace the geocache just how you found it.

This means it will be as fun for the next person to find as it was for you to find!

If the geocache was exposed then you can help the owner by hiding it better.

If you take something out of a cache, always put something back in exchange.

This makes sure the cache doesn't run out of stuff, and also makes it fairer.
It isn't fair if you go around taking things, as when the next person comes he or she might not be able to trade if there isn't much left in the cache.
It's a simple rule. Don't break it. :)

Always pre-load geocaches onto your gps/smartphone before setting off on your adventure.

This way you don't have to waste time worrying about whether you wrote down the right co-ords, or whether your smartphone can load them while you're there.

I have gone out to some geocaches before and I tried to load them on my phone when I got there and it wouldn't work! I wasted so much time trying to get it to work, and in the end I managed to use the co-ords but the clues wouldn't load so I had to do the trail without them!
Don't do what I did!

Take pictures of fun finds so you can remember them and show others!

It is always annoying when you find a really great cache but you forgot about it over time... Taking photos reminds you of the caches and gives you fun memories of the geocaching trails you do!
It only takes a few seconds to take a snap, then you have the memory.

Always carry around a small pair of tweezers.

These can be useful for many things while geocaching, but they are mostly useful for getting micro logs out. They are also useful when dealing with unknown cache containers, as sometimes the logs can be hard to get out.
